Find the birds

the ideations of prosthetics that we created in this module based on studying and analysis our interactions with diverse animal species with us . We studied the dynamic interplay of the human form with the animal form and how different forces and interactions are medium to specific reactions.  The interesting part was not everyone had a comical and lovie dobie relationship to animals 
But a lot of them felt resentment or fear , a few had a multi demential relationship but all of these emotions and persecutions allowed us to create extensions of the human form in very personal ways. These prosthetics included ones that allowed direct contact either to catalyse an interaction or negate it . A lot formulated prosthetics that served a certain purpose. 

 

My concept was related to birds but mainly observing them. observing birds is a very static action. birds are most comfortable in their natural habitat and the idea of my model was about the prospect not actually making the body the site but the prosthetic that could be something that could be inhabitated. my project focused upon the consept of extention of the organic form if the tree trunk and how that would to a certain extent camouflage the prosthetic and that too not in a decorative way.

the process of ideating this model was a long one, with continucally drawing and redrawing different designs, reworking critics and changes to then circling back to former ideas. For the instalation i used jute and coir ropes for the weives and split  bamboo foundation grids that heald their volume and curvature and could be woven through. They also had a lot of strength as well to hold all the weight of the ropes.

Throughout this module we were able to  understand form as a dynamic body, never exactly proportional to everyone. We were able to look at form as a string of forces and a response to the harmonious coexistence to other organic forms of nature. The process of sketching ideations and then reviewing and reproducing helped us with the understanding of the creation process , practicong it and therefore producing our limited body of work.
