Wires and Pliers
orientation module at SEA college | 2023 | Creative, structural
a meticulously crafted wire sculpture that draws inspiration from the evocative imagery of a poem. Created solely with pliers, this 30-hour labor of artistic dedication exhibits an intricate play of various wire materials, resulting in a striking manifestation of an insidious infestation.

Process
There was an Old Person of Leeds,
Whose head was infested with beads;
She sat on a stool
And ate gooseberry-fool,
Which agreed with that Person of Leeds.
The fundamental of any sort of infestation is deformation, whether it be weathering of books or infestation in living things resulting in symptoms such as boils, sours and textures ect.this piece was created via convex bulges.
From the very beginning we decided to create a basic foundation of thicker wire that could hold its curvature and created a grid that stayed upright along side the pillar. This was followed by layering weavs on the large sections which was essentially to show an endless movement.
Each element, strategically placed, achieves an amalgamation of raw chaos and delicate intricacy. This installation evokes the essence of infestation, wherein the wire tendrils and crevices weave and undulate, embodying the tenacity of an invasive force.
The choice of wires, ranging in thickness and texture, enhances the sculpture's tactile and visual complexity. From the sturdy and unyielding to the more delicate and malleable, these wires play a critical role in conveying the thematic exploration of an unstoppable encroachment, reflecting the multifaceted nature of an infestation.

we also did a charcoal piece insired by the poem. The composition centers on an elderly woman, whose entire figure is engulfed by a nightmarish eruption of bulging structures. These structures take on an appearance akin to festering boils, conveying a profound sense of unease and distress. The texture and depth in the sketch emphasize the disturbing transformation of the figure, as though an insidious force has penetrated her very being, reshaping her into an embodiment of suffering.
